EMS 169 - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Prepares the student for certification as a pediatric advanced life support provider as defined by the American Heart Association. Covers primary assessment and emergency care of infants and children. Lecture: 1 hour per week.

Prerequisite(s): EMS 111 & EMS 120; EMS 123, EMS 170, & EMS 180-186; EMS 221-224 & EMS 241; EMS 225, EMS 226, & EMS 246; current Virginia AEMT or Intermediate certification and BLS Provider CPR certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute
