Visual Arts, Graphic Design Specialization, AAA

PURPOSE: For students who intend to pursue careers in graphic design. Program coursework allows students to learn techniques specific to computer-generated design and imagery and explore all stages of publication, from creative inception to pre-press. Students are required to prepare portfolios of their work.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Students must meet JTCC admission requirements. Students may need to complete placement tests in English and mathematics. If students have deficiencies in English and/or mathematics, JTCC offers developmental and prerequisite courses to prepare students for the curriculum. New students should visit the Advising Center and returning students their faculty advisor for more information.

1Students are strongly encouraged to complete their SDV and ENG requirements first.

5Transfer to Four-Year Colleges and Universities – This program is not intended for transfer. Students desiring to transfer should consult their academic advisors and their intended transfer institution for specific direction in program and course selection. Required courses for any major at four-year institutions may vary.
